Biography of Attorney David C. Nelson

David C. Nelson is an Attorney licensed to Practice Law in both Illinois and Wisconsin.  1990 Graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison.  1993 Graduate of Drake University Law School.  Member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.  Member of the State Bar of Illinois.  Proud member of the American Bar Association;  Chicago Bar Association (CBA), Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association (IRELA), National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and the Non-Resident Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Wisconsin (NRLD).

David has been a frequent public speaker and volunteer with Latin United Community Housing (LUCHA).  His involvement in LUCHA's First Time Homebuyer Seminars stretches back to 2003.  David previously has been a public speaker at the former ACORN Housing Organization and has been involved with the CPAN program of the former Rogers Park Community Housing Association.

David has been involved with the Chicago Community Land Trust since its founding in the early 2000's.  Today he is actively involved in representing first time buyers and sellers with these special properties that help stabilize our communities.  For over 10 years, David has worked with the Illinois Housing Development Authority helping to originate and issue second and third mortgage down payment assistance programs and guiding clients with the Illinois Hardest Hit Program.

David is a member the Chicago Corinthian Yacht and involved in local club racing of one design sailboats.  David also serves on the Board of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Luke located in Lakeview.
